April 19, Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Main Library:  Asian Pacific Cultural Festival and kick-off for Read-On Fort Collins. Visit our booth to learn about our program and sign up for gift certificates.

Sept. 22, Monday 6:30-8 p.m. Harmony Library: “Hidden Stories of the Colorado Internment Camp” Features two authors who have written books about internment camps. Channel 9 TV reporter Adam Schrager wrote “The Principled Politician: The Ralph Carr Story” about a Colorado governor who resisted the camp movement. Fort Collins author Teresa Funke interviewed former camp detainees for her children’s book.

Oct. 2, Thursday 6:30-8 p.m. Harmony Library: “Internment Unearthed”  Archeologists Nicole Branton and Amy Meger will discuss their findings about internment camps.

Oct. 7, Tuesday noon, Main Library: Fort Collins Regional Library District Librarian Sarah Scobey will lead a brown bag discussion of “When the Emperor was Divine.”

Oct. 9, Thursday 6:30-8 p.m. Harmony Library: An evening discussion of the book led by Sarah Scobey

Oct. 11-12, Saturday and Sunday Citywide Book Fair: Local bookstores team up to promote Read-On Fort Collins. For discounts and special events, visit Barnes and Noble on College Avenue ; Reader’s Cove, The Book Rack, Matter Bookstore, Al’s Newstand, Book Lovers, and Anthology in Loveland .

Oct. 12, Sunday 6:30 p.m. Main Library: The Eracism Film series will show “Children of the Camps,” a powerful documentary that portrays the poignant stories of six Japanese Americans who were interned as children in United States concentration camps during World War II.

Oct. 26, Sunday7 p.m. Lincoln Center “When the Emperor was Divine” author Julie Otsuka speaks.

Oct. 27, Monday – Julie Otsuka will meet with PSD and CSU students.
